Since 2016, Plantel Los Angeles has been operating a modern plant that processes ore exclusively from artisanal mining in the municipalities of La Libertad and Santo Domingo. It currently serves more than 1,000 artisanal miners and generates 130 direct jobs.
Plantel Los Angeles’ group of investors have been working for more than 20 years in the ordering and formalization of artisanal mining through the implementation of a model for the process of small-scale gold extraction in a responsible manner, eliminating the use of mercury, providing maximum security to personnel, prosperity for all parties involved and thus reducing the environmental footprint.
The group seeks to replicate the model in communities with high poverty rates and gold reserves in their vicinity.
Objective:
To be a pole of development for mining municipalities in Nicaragua through the creation of small-scale gold extraction plants and responsible mining activities.
Vision:
To be recognized for the implementation of a production model for artisanal mining that promotes the social and economic growth of the sector, in harmony with the safety of the people and the environment. Guided by excellence, innovation and joint work.
